Bartholomew Shepkong, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Sciences at the Central Ohio Technical College, Newark, Ohio, where he teaches Introduction to Philosophy, Sociology, Cultural Diversity, Introduction to Anthropology, and Global Politics. He is also an independent consultant in Public Policy, Human Rights, Gender, and International Development.

Dr. Shepkong has an extensive background in Strategic Project Planning, Training, and Development, Intercultural Sensitivity, Policy Design Initiative, Education, Community Organizing, and Project Impact Assessment, among other topics. He is an analytical and conceptual thinker who effectively partners with senior managers to assess opportunities, facilitate strategic decisions, and drive successful implementations.

Dr. Shepkong’s ability to assess complex situations and identify appropriate solutions underscores his ability to gain meaningful insight and follow up with thorough analysis. He is particularly skilled at group facilitation and enjoys forging consensus among people with diverging ideas and opinions.

Dr. Shepkong received his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Policy and Social Change from the Union Institute & University, Cincinnati, Ohio, and his Masters of Arts in Social Justice and Community Development from Loyola University, Chicago, IL. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy and Religion from the Pontifical Urbanian University, Rome, Italy.

Dr. Shepkong has managed a broad array of projects in industries ranging from health care to education and philanthropy. Projects include Project Management Office Design and Implementation for large, cross-functional projects, Performance Improvement, Policy Design Initiative, Organizational Planning, Training and Development, Cultural Competency Training, and Learning and Development.

Dr. Shepkong is the Co-Founder of “The African” an Organization that seeks to educate, support, and advocate for the well-being of the African Community. He is also the Co-Founder of Pax-Amor Initiative, a Nigerian based nonprofit organization that provides leadership development and training to young men and women from all backgrounds.

His passion is often recognized in the various philanthropic and humanitarian initiatives he lends himself to. Dr. Shepkong is on the Board of Directors of the Nigerians in Diaspora Organization (NIDOA). He serves as the Vice President of Plateau State Association, USA. Committee Chair, NIDOA Young Professionals, President of the Columbus African Festival, and the Executive Director of “The African”. He is also a Fellow with the New American Leadership Academy.
